Railway Department Makes Active Response To Scorching Weather, Takes Strict Precautions Against Bulging Tracks, Bulging Plates

Recently, high temperature and heat waves have continued to sweep North China, the Huang-Huai area (between the south of the Yellow River and the north of the Huai River), and other places. Following the requirements, railway organizations pay close attention to responsibility clarification, measure implementation, and persist in stringent inspection of equipment and hidden hazard control.

To effectively prevent the risk of bulging tracks caused by high temperature, each railway department carefully measures the actual fastening-down temperature of seamless rails (turnout junctions) for timely destressing or adjustment; replenishes railway ballasts, smoothes ballast beds, and especially ensures full ballasts in new jack-in bridge culverts, cleaing sections and other weak places; each department strengthens the inspection and maintenance of insulated joints, long-span bridge’s beam-end lines, and regulators; each department attaches importance to preventing continuous ballastless track from bulging, makes sustained effort to pre-reinforce the tracks, and keeps monitoring how relevant departments handling the above issues.

During the activity of “Work Safety Month,” each railway department conducts training and emergency drills against bulging tracks, and organizes a comprehensive inspection of the storage, management, and use of anti-bulging tools and materials and protective equipment to ensure that the staff is aware of the standard and response to emergencies and that anti-bulging emergency supplies are adequate and in good condition, so that anomalies like bulging tracks and plates will be handled quickly.
